Fallen Leaf lake is located at the bottom of a 4 mile one lane road. The entrance to the Fallen Leaf Lake road is near the Tallac

historical site on highway 89. You can also get to it off of Highway 50 past Saw mill road from Tahoe Mountain Road.

There is a small tight community with a mix of new construction among older cabins. There is a small private beach as well as a smaller public beach.

You can rent watercraft at the local marina and general store. Up the road about a 1/2 mile you will find Glen Alpine falls and Lili lake.

The Glen Alpine Trail Head is here to take you into a desolation wilderness adventure.  Aloha lake and Mt Tallac are my favorite hikes from here.

There is also the Glen Alpine resort that was built in the 1800’s a mile up the trail. Here you will find a natural soda spring gurgling out of the ground. Not so delicious 

unless you like the taste of sulfur!  Have fun.
